Indians acquire Brent Lillibridge from the Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox traded Brent Lillibridge to the Cleveland Indians in exchange of minor league pitcher Jose de la Torre according to the Indians official Twitter account. The Red Sox designated Lillibridge for assignment earlier this month.

Lillibridge, 28, hit .125/.125/.125 in 16 plate appearances with the Red Sox this season. De la Torre, 26, is 8-1 with a 2.91 ERA, 0.0 HR/9, 3.4 BB/9 and 9.4 SO/9 in 55.2 innings with the Indians’ Double-A and Triple-A teams this season.
