Mets interested in bringing Francisco Rodriguez back
The New York Mets are looking to upgrade their bullpen, and one of the players on their wishlist is former Met Francisco Rodriguez. According to Ken Davidoff of the New York Post, Rodriguez could be the best available reliever on the market for the Mets so it would make sense for them to bring him back.
Davidoff adds though, that the Brewers probably won’t declare themselves sellers until after the All-Star break. Right now, they are seven games behind the Reds who lead the NL Central.
Last week, we learned that the Mets were looking “outside their organization in an effort to improve their ineffective, injured bullpen.” Rodriguez, 30, is 1-4 with a 4.00 ERA, 1.0 HR/9, 3.8 BB/9 and 8.0 SO/9 in 36.0 innings with the Brewers this season.
Here’s an article we wrote back in May talking about Rodriguez’s numbers with the Brewers.
