Indians release RHP Derek Lowe
The Cleveland Indians have released right handed pitcher Derek Lowe the team announced. CBSSports’ Jon Heyman reports that the veteran hurler is open to start or relieve wherever he’s needed. He adds that the Red Sox aren’t interested though.
Lowe was designated for assignment the first day of August. He went 8-10 with a 5.52 ERA in 21 starts. He posted a career low 3.1 k/9 and career highs with 11.8 h/9 and a 1.689 WHIP respectively.
