What you shouldn’t do if a ball is hit towards your direction
In my opinion, going to a baseball game is a family experience. I love watching little kids with their parents enjoying a good baseball game. It reminds me of my childhood when my dad used to take me to baseball games all the time, it is an unforgettable experience if you ask me.
Unfortunately, not every ballpark experience is a good one. Specially for this kid, who was surrounded by some of the most irresponsible adults I have ever seen.
Yesterday, A.J. Pierzynski hit a home run in the seventh inning (he has hit a home run in five consecutive games by the way) to give the White Sox a 3-2 lead. The problem with this home run was that it hit a little kid in the stomach. The kid started to cry almost instantly after he was hit so he had to be consoled by his parents.
After watching the replay closely (thanks to Dom Cosentino of Deadspin.com for picking that up), you can see when both of the kid’s parents “bail” him and leave him all by himself. For all of you with little kids out there, I want you to watch this video and learn what you shouldn’t do if a ball is hit towards your direction. If you have kids, please try to protect them from balls hit in their direction, unless you want to traumatize them for life of course.
